+5 on the scale

Ever since Olive has been eating real food we have been a lot more conscious of what we put into our own mouths. We figure that if we are eating something we are not willing to share with her, we probably shouldn't be eating it. As part of this new healthy lifestyle we decided to start running. We bought a jogging stroller sometime around Thanksgiving. The past week or so has been nice enough to venture out to the park to put some good miles on it. It took some convincing, but I talked James into going for a jog with me yesterday morning. About 15 minutes in the stroller crashed. We are very grateful and happy to report that no one was hurt, but the front wheel flew off the stroller. James was pushing the stroller, and it took all his strength to not go flying over the top of it. Olive was a little surprised, but it didn't bother her to much.

Our "healthy lifestyle" went down hill from there. Burgers and fries for dinner, followed by cookie dough/cookies, chips and a pound or so of jelly bellies for dessert. Dumb stroller.

Dreaming of the Weekend

How do we learn that other people's pain is funny? Not real pain, but AFV kind of pain (America's Funniest home Videos). Today I stubbed my toe hard and before I even started the chicken dance and the trying-not-to-swear babble, Olive was laughing her head off. Who taught her it was funny? Watching her throw her head in the air, close her eyes and laugh at me somehow made the pain go away.
Also....this morning as I was feeding her a breakfast of pears and blueberries, the spoon clanked against something in her mouth. Low and behold...a tooth. It is a very exciting day at the Brimacombe house. By the time she went to bed she was pretty sick of mom and dad sticking our fingers in her mouth to feel it.

Rain Drops on Roses

What could be better than Easter? Beautiful weather, new clothes and lots and lots of chocolate? Factor in an afternoon at the spa the Saturday before and nothing can beat Easter. (Thanks Josh!) We had a wonderful holiday. Olive had a blast "finding" her Easter basket. If I can figure out our video camera I will post a video. Pictures will have to do for now.

She loved all the colorful eggs and the money she found inside them.

She loves an audience and most of the day all the attention was on her.
I know that children tend to copy the mannerisms of the adults around them, but I thought I still had a few years before this started, but my brilliant daughter proved me wrong. She has started closing her eyes when she laughs. It took me a few days to realize that when I laugh at her I do the same thing. It is just about the cutest face you have ever seen. (Olive's, not mine.)

Sat night after Olive went to bed my mom, Melanie and I colored eggs. I made a special one for James. I don't think he thought it was as cool as I did. Go Eagles!

We hope you all had a great Easter. We missed those of you we didn't get to spend time with. Here are a few more fun pictures.

James is a clothes loser.

I mean that quit literally. The first time I met James' family was at Christmas time. I had gotten the cutest J. Crew coat the spring before and loved every detail of it. I was very excited to get some good use out of it in the bone chilling cold of Cobourg, CA. James picked me up at the airport in Toronto. There was naturally lots of hugs and kisses, the perfect-boyfriend-picking-up-girlfriend-after-weeks-apart-airport-moment. James took my coat and my luggage like any gentlemen would. With all the hearts and kisses and twitter patted eyes that were swirling around us, neither of us noticed that somewhere between the gate and the car my coat has fallen off the rolling luggage where James had put it. We spent a good hour retracing our steps and reporting the beautiful missing coat to anyone who would listen. Through out our Christmas stay James made many a call to the airport hoping to find it before our flight back. Some Canadian is very warm to this day in my wonderful tan corduroy coat.
Tonight I met James after work at Gateway to search for the perfect color cardigan to go over the cutest Easter dress I found last week. I shoved the pink, maroon and off-white dress in Olive's diaper bag as I left the house. As I was searching Forever 21 James passed the time with Olive watching the water shows. (P.S. I hate trying to match things that I bought in different store because I feel like a shop lifter when I am pulling a small part of the dress out of my purse to see if it matches.)
I did find exactly what I was looking for and went out to watch a water show feeling very triumphant. We got home and as always I wanted to fashion show what I had purchased to my eager audience (James, Olive and Maple). THE DRESS WAS GONE. We have searched high and low. I am blaming the clothes loser. Needless to say....I have a very cute Easter cardigan, and Easter shoes. I am trying to tell myself someone else needed the perfect Easter dress more than I did.

blogging dreams

We (mostly just Stefanie) have been wanting to create a blog for a long time. I check friend's blogs nightly and get really excited when people have posted. I thought other might enjoy watching Olive grow. I hope this helps us keep in touch better with friends and family who are living far away or just have really busy lives. Enjoy!
