Also...for those of you who are sitting on the edge of your seats wondering how the Men's League Nashville Predators hockey playoff are going....I have an update. Sunday night was a disappointing game to watch, and even more disappointing to play. James scored an amazing goal late in the first period to make the score 2-1 for the Predators. Unfortunately, that was the last goal scored by the Preds. Maggie's scored 6 goals in a row after that in a very sad finish. Fortunately it is double elimination. They played again last night. This game was very intense and a much better defensive game on the Predators part. We were ahead most of the game which was very hard on the other team. After a very scary fight that caused a player on the other team to be ejected from the game, and most likely ejected from playing hockey anywhere around here, we finished the game humbly. The next game is next week. We play Maggie's again, the team that beat us Sunday. If we win, we play them again the next week since it is double elimination and they have not lost yet. If we win that game then...We Are The Champions. We haven't won the championship since the first year we were dating. We still have the picture on our fridge and every now and then we pull out the winning t-shirt for motivation. GO PREDATORS!
footnote: I say "we" in the above sports update because I think I am part of the team. I do not really play. I do however know all the players names, and a lot of statistics, including who their wives or girlfriends are, how long they have been together, and who they get along with best on the team. (Ya know, all the important stuff.) I thought they considered me a part of the team also since I attend all the games, and am often time the only one cheering...even if I don't always use the right terms and hockey jargon. However, Conrad (a crucial part of the predators defense, and whose girlfriend I have been sitting with lately) came into Barnes and Noble one time when I was working and I got all star struck. I told him that I really liked watching the Predators play. He got a really scared look in his eye. I had to then use my really fast voice to backtrack and explain that I am James wife and not a crazy stalker. Maybe I shouldn't throw that team barbecue. ha ha
